2006 NFL DRAFT

Well my Raiders are going to get the 6th pick in the 2006 draft (click on the link to read the Raiders win flip for 6th pick story). I'm glad the NFL got off their ass and did the coin flip for the Raiders/49ers draft order right away. Usually it takes them forever and a day to do these type of things.

With the 6th pick in the draft, the Raiders stand no chance of getting Matt Leinart. Oh well, there goes my wish of getting a good QB. I have no idea who they will go after now. A few players come to mind though. Mario Williams from North Carolina State, DeMeco Ryans from Alabama or, Tamba Hali from Penn State. Out of those three I like Williams the most. I truly believe this guy will be a premier defensive end in the league. Putting him with Derrick Burgess could give the Raiders the best set of defensive ends in the league. Can you say pass defense people?!

Sense one of my friends is a huge Washington Redskins fan, I'll mention them for a bit.

If the Redskins lose and the Patriots win this weekend, then the Skins would go a head of the Pats and get the 21st pick in the draft. So I'm guessing all you Bronco scum bags want this to happen since Denver own the Redskins' 2006 first round pick. (how is Jason Campbell doing by the way? "Great" trade guys ha ha ha)

I doubt Brady Quinn and Vince Young will enter the 2006 Draft. I think Quinn is ready, but Young needs another year if he wants to make it in the NFL as a Quarterback. He improved tremendously as a passer this season but I'm not ready to drink his Kool-aid yet.If he continues to develop he should do well when he goes pro. Also If he does the right thing and stays another year, he's my pick to win the Heisman.

Barring the lack of several IQ points, the Houston Texans will use their number 1 pick overall to get USC Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush. Personally I think the Texans lost some of their games on purpose. But I digress. This is a team that has numerous holes to fill, most notably the offensive line. Bush is a player that no team should ever pass on, but he is not going to turn around that franchise by himself. I'm curious to see how the Texans use him. They already have Domanick Davis (who just signed a new $21.1 million contract extension.) and pro bowler Jerome Mathis as their kick returner. How much will Bush be able to do with limited opportunities to get his hands on the ball and pretty much no help around him? Another football conundrum.

That's all I have to say.

Talk to ya later...
