Super Bowl XXXIX Rant

Well it was a great game. I hate the Patriots but I'll give them credit. They always seem to some how pull if off at the end.

The Eagles played their heart out. Terrell Owens really surprised me. Its a shame that he wasn't healthy. The deep routes Pinkston was running were made for TO, but because he wasn't 100% he couldn't run them. Maybe if he was 100% the eagles would have won...who knows. Having a healthy Owens running deep routes would have given the Pats trouble. Hell they didn't even double team TO, which means the Pats had an easier time blitzing Donovan McNabb.

But the eagles still had a chance to win this game. McNabb choked plain and simple. Its hard to admit it because he is my favorite player, but that's what he did. McNabb is going to have to learn how to throw more accurate. Two of those 3 picks he threw were horrible passes. When he missed he either missed too low or too high. A few times during the game he didn't see wide open receivers. He also telegraphed some of his passes. You just can't do that against a team like the Patriots. I don't know what he was thinking with that first INT he threw.

But McNabb did do some things that even impressed me. He read the Patriots defense a lot better than Peyton Manning did. And his second TD pass to Brian Westbrook was beautiful. He threw a perfect rocket to Westbrook fading away past double coverage. But the mistakes he made killed his team.

And I'm surprised that Andy Reid didn't have his hurry up offense ready at the end of the game. That killed any chance for the Eagles to tie the game.

Oh well, at least bitch ass Tom Brady didn't win the MVP.

Talk to ya later...
