Subject: Boston Rant

I think that the black people who live in boston and are from there would be offended by the fact that you compared them to republicans. Unlike LA, when you grow up in Boston or New York, you are proud and become loyal fans of the local teams. It is true that Boston was in the past one of the most racist cities and baseball teams butyou've never been to Boston so you really don't know what you're talking about. Most Boston fans agreed that that House guy was really out of line and deserved to lose his season tickets and to face charges. The guys who sit out there do not represent the entire city. You find those guys in every city. So don't act like everyone there is like that and that most Boston fans supported that asshole.

Last time I checked neither you nor I were the official spokesperson for Black people in Boston. Its not my problem if my opinion offends people. I just can't understand how a Black person who lives in Boston could enjoy living there. Its a racist town plain and simple. So because I never lived in Boston I don't know what I'm talking about? You just said Boston in the past was one of the most racist cities. How would you know? Did you live there at that time? You probably found out the same way I found out Boston is still a racist town......RESEARCH!!!!!!! I take it you don't read much and/or talk to a lot of Black people.

For example I never grew up in
Tennessee, Mississippi, or Alabama either. Are you going to tell me those places aren't racist? I doubt you've ever lived there, so if you say that they are, then how would you know? But I'm sure you think through the years some how Boston drastically lowered the racist crap that goes on there even though Tennessee, Mississippi, or Alabama could not. Obviously all of these places (Boston included) are not as bad as they use to be, but they are still more racist then other places in America.

Just because I'm not from Boston does not mean I can't know anything about it. I wasn't at the Civil War but I know what happened. I mean ask around, I'm sure a lot of people will say the same thing about Boston. Every Black person who has been to Boston (and a lot of White people for that matter) that I've talked to have told me that Boston is still pretty racist. I'm pretty sure you're not a racist Rachel (that's why you emailed me) so maybe you never hung out with racist when you were actually in Boston. Birds of a feather flock together.

In my article (which you obviously did not read clearly) I never said that every Boston fan was a racist. I just said that Boston is a racist town.
You're kidding yourself if you think otherwise. Why don't you go tell Bill Russell that Boston isn't a racist town. Go tell him that some how racism went away in Boston. Maybe you need to go do some research.  I'll help you out. Go read the Barry Bonds vs. Boston article written by
Dave Zirin. Enjoy.

But I Digress lets talk about the NFL draft. A few things caught my eye...

When my Raiders moved up in the draft to # 23 I was hoping and praying that they would pick Aaron Rodgers. They didn't and I was pissed...very. Yes I know the Raiders need defensive help but Rodgers looked like a steal to me. Plus Rich Gannon is probably going to retire. (Check out the Turner says Gannon, 40, likely to retire story) I'm also not a huge fan of Kerry Collins. The guy just makes too many mistakes. I'm hoping having Randy Moss will make him a better QB.

A lot of other teams past on Rodgers for some reason. I guess only time will tell if those teams as well as the Raiders made a mistake. But hey, Fabian Washington is a good pick I guess. He just needs to get stronger or the bigger receivers are going to push him around.

I was shocked when the Lions picked Mike Williams at number 10 overall. I started to think to myself, "Wow the Lions are going to be awesome next year." Then it hit me, THE LIONS DEFENSE SUCKS!!!!!!!!! They need defense. Also last time I checked there's a salary cap. Good luck trying to keep Charles Rodgers, Roy Williams, and Mike Williams (all first round picks by the way) signed for years to come.  When your defense sucks, why in the world would you draft a number 1 receiver three years in a row? Detroit dropped the ball on this one.

Even though I hate the Broncos I'll give them credit for taking a chance with drafting Maurice Clarrett. You ever notice how  the Broncos always have a good running game? With that offensive line Clarrett might be able to do some serious damage.

I also like the chance the Jaguars took by selecting Matt Jones. This kid is a beast. 6'6" 237 pounds and he runs a 4.37 40. And no he's not going to be a TE, that would be a waste if you ask me. If he can make the transition from Quarterback to Wide Receiver, he'll make a killing in the NFL with all the athletic skills he posses. The only problem I have with this selection is that Jacksonville might of been able to trade down for more picks and still be able to get him.

That's all I have to say.

Talk to ya later...
