  • Persona

It's something I should have sense sooner
Addiction to friction more and more tempting
There is no normal but the persona is far from formal
Love being stranded can't understand it - must be the soul hits
Most throw a fit, I feed then roll with it
    Makes no sense
    Or does it?
A stream flows a direction for a reason
"Utopia was never mine", is what it said while leaving
Will the holy house holder forgive for not believing?
I came from the womb. Now I'm wondering about the tomb
I'm bleeding now, but there are no wounds

    Its been a while...

    Ryan,

Still writing some solid stuff, I see. Haven't been here in a little while, not long enough to take my time anyways. Good to see you, and the passion you present through your lyrics/poems...glad to see you haven't set that aside. Thought of you many times since we spoke (chatted) last. Hope all is very well for you.
Success? You feeling it? Cause your reaking of it on your web pages! Your making those of us who once knew you feel awfully proud! Lovin' that! Good job, baby! Keep your head up and write me back someday. (tiffaneyis@yahoo.com) Much love, always...

The speaker or voice of a literary work, or in plainer words, "who's doing the talking."

Sidelight: Sometimes the author of a poem identifies a created character as the speaker-- but in the absence of a specific attribution the term persona is applied in a neutral sense, since it should not be automatically assumed that a creative work directly reflects the personal experiences or views of the poet. The use of an identified persona precludes a potential ambiguity and enables poets to give expression to things they would prefer not to have attributed to their own person.
