Lindsay Lohan surrenders in court to 90-day sentence in jail

Actress Lindsay Lohan is scheduled to report to a judge to start serving a 90-day jail sentence, but confusion remained over what lawyer might stand with her in court Tuesday morning.

Lohan apparently hired former O.J. Simpson lawyer Robert Shapiro last week to replace attorney Shawn Chapman Holley, but Holley never signed the substitution paperwork filed with the court on Friday, according to Los Angeles Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini.

Earlier this month, Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel ordered Lohan to report to her courtroom at the Beverly Hills, California, courthouse at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday to begin her probation violation punishment.

Holley, who has defended Lohan in the probation troubles after her 2007 drunk driving conviction, is scheduled to be in another courthouse at the same time with another high-profile defendant -- former Food Network chef Juan-Carlos Cruz. Holley represents Cruz in an alleged murder-for-hire case. Holley did not respond to CNN requests for clarification on which client she would be with Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, Revel has placed tight restrictions on what the public will be able to see at the court hearing.

While the world watched as Lohan, 24, broke down in tears at her sentencing July 6, the public won't be able to see the actress handcuffed and taken into custody Tuesday, the judge ruled.

Cameras must stop rolling when the judge announces that Lohan is remanded and the bailiff is instructed to take her into custody. The judge also ordered that photos of Lohan must be restricted to when she's at the counsel table.

The actress was ordered to serve 90 days in jail for missing alcohol counseling sessions in violation of her probation. She was also sentenced to spend 90 days in a drug and alcohol rehab program after her jail term is completed.
