  • Rick Ross Issues Statement Regarding Canceled Shows In Australia

A representative for Rick Ross has issued a statement regarding the cancellation of the rapper’s highly anticipated tour of Australia.

The Miami rapper was supposed to perform at Australia’s Supafest on April 14 in Brisbane followed by a date on April 15 in Sydney.

Rick Ross also had dates scheduled for April 21 in Melbourne and April 22 in Perth, but he will not make any of them.

Many assumed that the cancellations were due to a medical condition, since Rick Ross has suffered from seizures in the past, that have forced to cancel shows and stopped him from traveling.

But a rep for the rapper says a contractual dispute and not Ross’ health, is the reason for Ross nixing the tour.

“[Rick] Ross was looking forward to touching the people of Australia, this event as it is the one of biggest urban festivals in Australia, he is very disappointed that he will not be performing,” a rep for Rick Ross told AllHipHop.com.

“It is unfortunate that the payment arrangements did not meet contractual deadlines,” the rep told AllHipHop.com.

The cancellation of Rick Ross’s performance is one several issues organizers for Supafest have encountered this year.

A representative for Missy Elliott issued a statement earlier in the week, claiming that she was being falsely advertised as a performer for the festival.

Sean “Diddy” Combs was also supposed to perform during the festival, but he had contractual issues with promoters as well.

“The promoters never sent the money for the show i love you guys! I’m MAD as F**k I’m very upset that the promoters that contracted me to come never fufilled [sic] the damn contract!…My 1st ever Australian tour is going to be cancelled because the promoters did not fufill [sic] the contract! CRAZY!!!”

A number of other acts are still participating in the tour, which is being presented by Paperchase Touring and Entertainment.

T-Pain and Ludacris are still on board for stops in Brisbane and Sydney, while Chris Brown, Kelly Rowland, Lupe Fiasco, Ice Cube, Trey Songz, Naughty By Nature and Big Sean will hit the stage for the entire tour, which runs from April 14-22.
