  • Mariah Carey & Nicki Minaj Discuss Feud, Minaj Jokes About Sex Tape

While still disagreeing on some things, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey say some positive things about one another.

The feud between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey was sparked in 2012. While some time has passed since news of their disagreements made headlines, it seems the two are still not seeing eye to eye on certain things.

“We’re professionals," Minaj said during a press conference for American Idol, according to ONTD. "Have you ever had an argument with someone you’ve worked with?”

    Carey disagreed.

“This was sort of one-sided,” noted Carey.

    “No, it wasn’t,” Minaj responded.

However, the two did have positive remarks later.

"I say nice things about Mariah all the time," Minaj explained. "I tell Mariah all the time how much of a fan I am of her. She's one of my favorite artists of all time ... She's shaped a generation of singers. It's kind of crazy to be on a panel with her ... I feel excited to see [the contestants] see someone they look up to so much ... [and] hear her critique."

    Carey was flattered.

"And that was obviously a very sweet thing to say," Carey continued. "Nicki and I worked together very early on in her career and did a song from an album I'd done called 'Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel,' called 'Up Out My Face,' ironically ... it was one of my favorite videos and songs and I did feel that she was going to go very far, and still have that feeling and am grateful for anything nice that she and anyone else have to say about me."

According to The Washington Post, their feud continued when Nicki Minaj talked about her "sex tape."

“I put on my sex tape,” Minaj replied when asked how they were able to reconcile their differences.

“And, there it is,” Carey said, reportedly rolling her eyes, according to The Post. "The whole thing is convoluted. It's a distraction from the show and a distraction from the contestants."
