  • Grammy Awards May Be Cancelled, Amy Winehouse Banned?

The show doesn't always go on. Due to the writer's strike, next month's Grammy Awards ceremony is in danger of getting nixed.

According to New York's Daily News, The Writers Guild of America may demonstrate at Feb. 10's annual Grammy ceremony in L.A. and if that happens, the strike supporters' musical allies may pull out of the show.

There are reportedly plans in the works to get Grammy nominees with screen experience to boycott the show. Artists include Beyoncé, Queen Latifah, 50 Cent, Alicia Keys, Fantasi, Fergie, Usher, Justin Timberlake and Prince, among others.

"The writers are especially interested in artists who might perform on the show," a source said. "If they pull out, the show comes apart."

But nothing's set in stone just yet.

"As of now, the Guild has not taken a position on the Grammys," a WGA spokeswoman said.

Yet if the show does go on Brit soul sensation Amy Winehouse may not be allowed to attend. Amy is nominated in 6 categories including Record of the year for her work on Back to Black.

Her much publicized bout with drugs and alcohol has U.S. officials concerned about letting her in the country.

"Amy's been told she needs to pass a drug test before she can get a visa," a source told Britain paper The Sun. "She is doing much better and has cut down her drug use but is still isn't clean."

The troubled soul singer who rebuffed rehab in her hit song of the same name has been in and out of trouble with the law, cited for marijuana possession in Norway last October and hauled in for "perverting the course of justice" just this past December.

Winehouse's mother wrote an open letter to her daughter in a UK newspaper, begging Amy to seek help for her drug addiction.

Now, the singer's troubles may keep her from getting into one of the biggest music awards shows of the year.

"It is hard to believe there will be a time before going to the U.S. that she could pass the [drug] test," the source said. "Her team (is) desperate to clean her up as the Grammys is such a big deal. But Amy's not so bothered."

Other big name artists nominated at this years ceremony include Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, T-Pain and super producer Timbaland, each with five nods. Kanye West, who is going up against Amy for "Record of the Year" with his third album, Graduation, has earned a total of 8 nominations.
