Barack Obama: Dreams do come true

Where do I start? I’m filled with a great deal of positive emotion as I write this. Barack Obama is the first African American President of the United States of America. This is easily the greatest moment of my life. A mere two generations after the civil rights movement, a Black man has defied the odds.
When I was talking about this on the David Stein show (the show I produce), I had to fight back tears. What happened on November 4, 2008 is something that will inspire a nation. I feel like I can accomplish anything. In my mind there is no obstacle that I cannot conquer. There are no more excuses in my life. A Black man becoming President means anything can come true if you work hard enough.
How did this happen? One word. Iowa. When Barack Obama told the world he was running for President, I laughed. I said to myself, “Nigga please.” He wasn’t going to get my vote because I refused to believe an African American could win the right to lead this nation. Like myself, many Blacks were on Hillary Clinton’s side before the Iowa caucus.
Hillary Clinton was “suppose” to win Iowa. Mrs. Clinton was “suppose” to win the nomination with ease and then become the 44th President. She had the momentum. She even had the support of Black America. She had this because African Americans simply didn’t believe.
So what happened? Simple. Obama received a great deal of White support in Iowa for the win. This was huge because it caused Black people to open their eyes. Most of Black America shifted to Barack Obama after this…and it happened because White people convinced Black people that an African American could become President. That is a beautiful thing.
I could be wrong (I doubt it) but, I think Barack Obama is what the United States of America needs. It wont be easy but, President Obama has the ability to fix the Hell George W. Bush put us in. I know Obama isn’t going to fix everything in 4 years. I understand that he wont change current America into the next utopia. But what I do know is that he will make moral choices. He will do his best to unite where others try to divide. I also know that at 31 years of age, I witnessed something last night that I will pass on to the next generation. This is a glorious chapter in American history.
Hope. It’s a wonderful thing.

I never understood interventions. What’s the point of being told you drink too much from a room full of reasons why you drink in the first place?

Joe the Puppet
I don’t know what humors me more. The fact that Joe the Plumber is a simple minded puppet for the Republican party or Fox News giving Barack Obama some honest love.
It’s rather obvious that Joe the Puppet has no idea what he is talking about when it comes to Obama’s foreign policy. Poor Joe has been shoved into the limelight the same way Sarah Palin has. He is entirely inadequate to speak to the public as an expert. Thankfully Shepard Smith is not your average run of the mill hate monger on Fox. I really respect that. Sean Hannity would of had an orgasm the second Joe finished his idiot views on Obama.
Let me do you a favor Joe and give you some info on Barack Obama’s foreign policy advisers. They have been the Brookings Institution’s Susan E. Rice, former National Security Adviser Anthony Lake, former Navy Secretary Richard Danzig, and Republican Senator Richard Lugar.
Yet, Joe the Puppet believes a vote for Obama would mean death for Israel. Even though Barack Obama has stated how important Israel is to the USA. But Joe the Puppet still believes the rhetoric that is being fed to him. He couldn’t even give a solid reason as to why Obama would be bad news for Israel. I’d be surprised if Joe could find Israel on a map.

Anyone else see this epic speech last night?
Barack Obama bashers will say that he didn’t provide enough specifics. I always thought speeches weren’t meant to be about dwelling on the “specifics.” If people are really looking for “specifics”, they might start by looking through the “Issues” section on his website, which provide detailed outlines of his stance on every major campaign topic, including some .pdf files running dozens of pages long.
