  • I Make No Mistake Twice

I'm sitting in this coffee house
    Millions dancing in my head
Inside myself, I'd like to shout
    I'll sit instead...
    Emotionally dead
What has become of me within?
It is often hard to sort...
    Where shall I begin?
Searching and sifting through my life...
    These desires, exceptance and strife.
I'm enamored by this heated fireplace
I realize, I haven't studied even one face
    In this crowded space...
    And selfish race
I feel I've come so far away
    Though I'm frightened still today
Why has my prince not shown for me?
Doesn't he, too, own the dream I see?
    Do I care to share...?
    Clear the slate I wear...?
    Expose this cross I bare...?
I'll do the best to choose
    While you still refuse
In lover's game, I sadly lose
    More expectant satisfaction
Yet you'll unallow of smallest fraction
So, to you, I quit giving
    For myself, I'll start living
    Breaking free of this vice...
    I make no mistake twice

Very different from your other stuff. More dark, I like it

I disagree with Mcbain on this one, not in it being good, cuz it was my favorite by far, but I actually thing this was a poem with more light than darkness. one of self awareness and freedom. It's like see found her way out of the darkness in this poem.
