I like the foundation of poem if you can call it that , but it was simple and not to complex , all and all a good read

They told me good things happen to good people
I look at my life, and their words don't make sense
Believe what you see, not what you hear
But I did catch a glimpse of it on that first day of November
I've searched for it ever since
I asked but nobody had the answer
I followed what I thought it was in tunnels that ended with no daylight
Is it still alive?
Or have I been mislead by simple fables?
How can something so old, have only one name?
This odyssey has taken me closer to darkness
Wanting something so bad will do that to you
I never knew the journey to find hope would be like this
