Grand Theft Auto 6 official price: $79.99 for standard, $99.99 for ultimate edition
Last week, Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive revealed the cover art and announced the start date for pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto 6, one of the most anticipated pieces of entertainment in history. This morning, the official price tag and editions for the game were announced, leaving many fans stunned.
Publisher Take-Two Interactive announced this morning, on June 24, 2026, that the regular, digital version of Grand Theft Auto 6 will cost $79.99. This price will match some of the video game offerings from Nintendo, like Mario Kart World and the Nintendo Switch 2 Editions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. There is another version of the game, called the Ultimate Edition, that will cost $99.99, and it will have several exclusive items for buyers that are locked off to normal edition buyers.
The Ultimate Edition amplifies this experience with an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story," according to Take-Two Interactive's announcement.
On the GTA 6 official website, the site has been updated to include still images of the various cosmetics that will be available exclusively in the Ultimate Edition.
"Welcome to Leonida, the state where anything goes. Seize everything this massive world has to offer with the Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition, an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action around every corner. Ultimate Edition bonuses are threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story, with new items uncovered behind each chapter," reads the description on the website.
Notably, the Ultimate Edition includes several in-game shops that will only be accessible to players who own the Ultimate Edition, including Sara's Unisex Salon for custom hairstyles, beards, and nails for both Jason and Lucia.
The pre-order bonus for the game is the Vintage Vice City pack, which includes additional cosmetics for Jason, Lucia, a 1955 Vapid Stanier sedan, a garage alongside Ocean Beach, and a weapon pattern.
The price tag of GTA 6 has been the subject of intense debate in the industry, with many feeling that it will set a standard for video games moving forward. Much like other games, too, it will cost more than the buying-in price for the full experience.
There has also been no news or announcements regarding GTA Online yet, and whether it will be a free update post-launch or if it will be a separate game altogether.
Grand Theft Auto 6 will be available on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
