Rumor: V-Pocket
Recently, it had been revealed that Nintendo had issued a new patent for the V-Pocket. What you may not have heard is that Nintendo also licensed out Palm OS Based software. The truth is, the two are related. The V-Pocket is software that will turn the DS into a PDA, without having to spend extra money to have both PDA and the DS.
As for the PCGP patent that was filed around the same time, there's still no concrete explaination. Some say it's an add-on to increase the DS' wireless capability, while others say it's function has something to do with it being a joint filing between Nintendo and Pokemon creators Game Freaks.
