  • 50 Cent Announces New Film Project, Brings Floyd Mayweather On As Partner

50 Cent has been steadily taking steps to cement himself into the movie biz, much like he has in hip-hop. And recently, has tapped friend Floyd Mayweather to join him.

The hip-hop mogul recently brought the boxing superstar on board as an investor for his latest film project, "Tomorrow Today."

During a press conference at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah last weekend, the duo announced that they would be partnering together to bring the action film to the silver screen.

They weren't very revealing about details for the upcoming film, but what they did say is that shooting will begin in Mayweather's hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan this summer. And, 50 will write and direct the project, reports HitFix.com.

Why did Mayweather come aboard? It's simple.

"I won't be able to box forever," he says, echoing what his friend 50 also told journalists: "I won't be able to rap forever."

The film will be released through his Cheetah Vision Films company, co-founded by partner Randall Emmett. The company previously landed a 10-picture, $200 million investment deal, backed by George Furla's Hedge Fund Film Partners.

At the present moment, 50 Cent's rap career seems to be on hold while he focuses on Hollywood. He was in Utah over the weekend, promoting the films "Gun," "Things Fall Apart," and "Caught in the Crossfire."
