  • Nick Cannon Goes After Eminem In Upcoming Stand-Up Special

The Nick Cannon/Mariah Carey vs. Eminem beef looks to be heating up again.

Comedian, actor and husband to R&B and pop vocalist Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon, is said to be playfully reigniting his feud with rapper Eminem in an upcoming comedy special.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cannon will make a return to stand-up May 14 at 9pm on cable network Showtime with the hour-long special Nick Cannon: Mr. Showbiz, which was recorded at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Cannon apparently intends to use the platform to let his hair down a bit – and he apparently addresses Slim Shady publicly during his act.

“When you’re up there on stage, it’s no holds barred,” Cannon told THR. “ You don’t have to be politically correct. All the pressure is gone. It’s just you and the microphone.”

The proud papa to be first laid down the gauntlet in 2009 when Eminem attacked his wife on the track “Bagpipes From Baghdad” from Em’s Relapse album. Taking heavy offense, Nick Cannon answered Eminem’s taunts with a lengthy blog which then became an all-out verbal serve and volley on Twitter.

Even Mariah Carey got in on the act with the song and video “Obsessed” from her Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel release and although Cannon and Carey claimed there wasn’t a beef, a curiously dressed character in the video for “Obsessed” certainly resembled the Detroit rapper.

Em and Mariah have been taking digs at each other since 2002 in where the rapper confirmed a quasi-relationship with the Carey, which she vehemently denied in interviews. As time went on, Em continued to randomly attack Mariah in verse with the aforementioned “Bagpipes From Baghdad” sparking Carey’s husband to defend his wife’s honor.
