  • Common Says He Wants To Work With Jay-Z

Common says he's hoping to collab with Jay-Z in the future and talks about his new movie "LUV."

Last year, Common gave Hip Hop heads a special treat when he linked up with Nas for The Dreamer/The Believer's single "Ghetto Dreams." Now, the Chicago veteran says he has his sights set for a collaboration with New York's other Hip Hop king: Jay-Z.

In a recent interview with liqueur brand X-Rated, Common expressed his hopes of collaborating with Hova on a track. Although the two have yet to hit the studio together in their careers, they were seen celebrating Nas's 38th birthday together last year.

"The emcee that I would like to work with that I haven't worked with, I would say it would be Jay-Z, definitely," he said. "Jay is probably one of the people that I would like to work with most out of the Hip Hop era of music."

Common also spoke on his latest acting role as the character Uncle Vincent in the film LUV. Common explained that he is excited to be a part of the indie feature as it was recently selected to screen at the Sundance Film Festival.

"I have a new film that I'm a part of that's called LUV," he said. "It's in [the] Sundance [Film Festival], it was selected for Sundance. It's an independent film by a young black director named Sheldon Candis. I don't just want to call him a black director, but he's a black guy so I'm proud of that…we've got some great actors [in the film], too. We have Danny Glover, Dennis Haysbert, this lady Lonette McKee, Michael K. Williams from 'The Wire' and 'Boardwalk Empire' and the young Michael Rainey, Jr., who's one of the stars of the film along with myself. I'm excited about that movie and it's the first time I've been in a film at Sundance."
