  • Nas Discusses Trayvon Martin, Working With Tyga

Nas gives his take on Trayvon Martin's tragic death, as well as how his collaboration with Tyga came to be.

In a recent interview with Angie Martinez, Nas discussed the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, who was gunned down last month.

"You never want to hear that kind of news," said Nas in the interview, courtesy of xclusiveszone.net. "When it happens, you remember how many Trayvon incidents happen everyday all over the world. ...It doesn't seem like the race problem will ever get solved. I like to be optimistic, but it doesn't seem like it'll ever get solved."

Nas, who wore a hoodie in honor of Martin during the interview, continued. "That's a sickness that needs healing, that this guy Zimmerman is dealing with, and all the Zimmermans around the world. They're dealing with a self-hatred, ignorant, sickness. They're living in fear. So I'm rocking a hoodie for my man."

During the interview, Nas also discussed how "Kings & Queens ," his collaboration with Tyga, came to be.

"I like to see artists flossin'. I like to see them make big records and go throw money in the clubs, and buy new chains. I just like People livin' their life and being happy."

"My daughter's like, 'Yo, Tyga's that dude.' And I know 'Rack City' is my joint. So I'm like, okay, Tyga call? I'm on my album."

"That was [my daughter's] call. I like him, but that was her call."
