  • Death Sentence For Suge Knight's Death Row Records?

Marion "Suge" Knight is set to attend a hearing in April regarding his assets or face the possibility of having the court seize his Death Row Records.

Last year, Knight was ordered to pay $107 million to Lydia Harris, a woman who helped start Death Row and allegedly was owed money after being forced out of the imprint. Lawyers representing Harris and her former husband, Michael "Harrio" Harris, an incarcerated drug dealer pursuing half of the award as part of their divorce, requested that the judge place Death Row into receivership.

Harris, who is presently serving 28 years at San Quentin State Prison, says he contributed $1.5 million from behind bars to held start Death Row, a claim Knight has repeatedly denied. Harris' legal team has accused Knight of ducking his legal responsibilities by pulling a no show for three debtor examinations. He skipped a hearing yesterday.

"Enough is enough," attorney Steve Goldberg told the Associated Press. "It is time for a receiver and an order for contempt. There are rules of court that should be obeyed and Mr. Knight is making a mockery of it."

Meanwhile, Rex Beaber, who reps Lydia Harris, accused Knight of moving his assets. Judge Ronald Sohigian refused a request from Suge's attorney, Dermot Givens, to postpone the hearing because the mogul was hiring a new legal team. Jude Sohigian also prohibited Knight from moving or hiding his assets. In Knight's absence, Givens guaranteed that his client would appear at the April 1 hearing and swore that he would not hide any assets.

This past September, a judge froze Knight's assets, claiming that he and his attorneys had failed to answer questions and volunteer information for the case.
