  • Foxy Brown's Early Release Bid Denied

Rikers Island resident Foxy Brown requested a get-out-of-jail-early card that would allow her to undergo a surgical procedure to restore her hearing, but a Manhattan judge wasn't trying to hear it.

According to the Brooklyn rapper (born Inga Marchand), she will be deaf without a cochlear implant. Her cochlear was damaged when the rapper was punched during a brawl with another inmate. She's already had two failed surgeries.

But Criminal Court Judge Melissa Jackson denied the request Thursday (Jan. 24), according to the New York Post, saying Fox didn't provide any medical proof that she needed the procedure.

Fox Boogie asked to be sprung so she could fly to Los Angeles and have the high-tech ear apparatus implanted. Now the rapper will have to settle for the services of the city departments of Correction and Health to get a local specialist to treat her at Rikers or at a hospital equipped to secure inmates including Elmhurst in Queens and Bellevue in Manhattan.

The rapper is currently serving a year-long sentence for violating her probation in connection with a 2004 assault charge. Her release date is still set for April 20.

Foxy's latest album, Brooklyn's Don Diva, is scheduled to hit shelves on Feb. 5.
