  • Jesse Ventura: Sarah Palin will be 2012 GOP nominee, and "she'll do what she's told"

Jesse Ventura will be a guest on "Piers Morgan Tonight" Monday night for the hour, and the wide-ranging interview touches on conspiracies, foreign policy and more. But in a green room Q&A after the interview, we asked Ventura about who he thinks will be the 2012 GOP nominee. Even though he despises both parties ("I'm an equal-opportunity despiser") he made his choice: Sarah Palin. "They're grooming her for it, she's got a TV show. It seems that elections today are more popularity than they are substantial issues," he said. "She's the type of person that certainly will be controlled by the status quo and the power structure. So she'd make a perfect candidate for them, she'll do what she's told."

There were a few very contentious moments during the interview. So what did Ventura think of Piers Morgan?
Even though Ventura think Piers is part of "the establishment," he said, "He's tough, he's a button pusher. I know now why CNN hired him, because he can definitely get you stirred up, as he did me."

Ventura also talked about his former career, in the WWE. He doesn't "particularly like it today," but he had positive words for recent PMT guest The Rock (Dwayne Johnson): "He always takes time out to say hi to me and that shows me what he's made of, because he never forgets the guys who came before him." Check out the full interview on Monday's "Piers Morgan Tonight" and look for a preview clip Monday morning about Libya.
